FAQ

Answers about the default workspace, document-context Q&A, understanding checks, local-first workflows, sensitive materials, and batch processing.

Before you start

How is Pemo different from ordinary AI chat?

Ordinary AI chat is better for temporary questions. Pemo keeps documents, subtitles, translation, notes, understanding checks, paper subscriptions, batch tasks, and service configuration in the same material workflow, which is better for long-term reading and reusable output.

Do I need to create many workspaces first?

No. Start with the default workspace, import materials, and run through reading, translation, notes, and transcription. Create new workspaces later when projects, courses, clients, or confidentiality levels become complex.

Can Q&A and understanding checks use a specific scope?

Yes. Study workflows support the current document and multi-document scopes. Understanding checks can generate learning tasks from selected text, the current page or section, the full document, or a custom scope.

Is Pemo suitable for sensitive materials?

Pemo supports local-first workflows such as Ollama and local transcription. Whether a workflow is fully local still depends on the chosen translation, model, sync, and plugin services, so check data flow before use.
